Today was a household & errands day, so no exciting birding expeditions were made. But consolation came in some lovely early morning moments...
My neighbor's beautiful Argentinian Giant cactus bloomed. Its amazing flowers open at night, and wither by the following afternoon.
The dove parents are faithfully incubating their eggs, and not flying away when we open the front door. Not sure if this is Mr or Ms, but it was lovely in the morning light.
And finally, this red passionflower bloomed this morning on a plant I got at Home Depot last week when I went to see their owls. These only last about a day too, but there are lots of buds coming along.
Tomorrow may bring a DBG visit, if I can get there early enough to get some elbow room among all the photogs staking their territory with tripods and reflectors. The DBG cacti are reportedly on the verge of bursting into mega-bloom...
